Greg klippenstein & Francois Larouche are the duo team behind Steinbach's newest restaurant that's creating a real buzz in this once sleepy mennonite town. A historic community of restrictions, Steinbach, is now growing into a thriving community of Agriculture, commerence and art.
The Brass Lantern has taken the art of Dining out to a new level. It's new location at Highway 12 and Main st. is at the core of this community. Everyone here has been anticipating the transformation of the old Penner Chev building since it was purchased 16 months ago...and they did not disappoint!
The restaurant decor has a beat of Yorkville, Toronto, the eclectic art of locals and the cuisine of passionate foodies.
You can't beat that... in these parts of rural Manitoba.
Manitoba is emerging from its past as a wheat belt. "Here so much is fresh and produced locally, why not show it off" says Greg.

Francois Larouche "chef de cuisine" at Brass Lantern is as dedicated and passionate as any top chef from Montreal. A transplant from Quebec, Francois & Greg have cliqued to create eclectic menus of an urban world.
Doug Penner (far right) is responsible for making the front of house magic a reality for the Brass Lantern Patrons. He blueprints the procedures that make the restaurant run.

There is a difference in dining out when you patronize a restaurant that places your experience ahead of their profit. That motivating factor is Pride. Pride as in the art of the cuisine they prepare, the decor they lay out and the ambiance they create so that You can step out of your world and enter into theirs...and enjoy.
